We have been approached to discuss our work challenging hate crime in Staffordshire and also to discuss the findings of a new BBC survey that shows a rise of nearly 300% (over 5 years) in hate crime against people with disabilities.
Studies carried out by the charity Scope previously showed that 75% of people with disabilities who experience hate crime do not report it so at least some of this rise might be explained by increased confidence or ease in reporting.
